This year Sioux Valley Health Center had sponsored ten youth from our community to participate in the NHL/NHLPA First Shift Program.
First Shift is for new to hockey families and is accessible, affordable, safe and fun hockey program for first time players and families.
Each child is fitted with Bauer equipment and participate in a 6 week on ice program that focuses on fun and learning to play.
Once the 6-week program is complete they have the opportunity to participate in a program hosted by the Minor Hockey Association.
The program runs twice a year and will be holding another First Shift programming in the spring of 2020.
