ADDICTION SERVICES WORKER – FULL TIME TERM POSITION

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Addictions Services Worker will implement and deliver the programs and Services of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program to the clientele and to the community of Sioux Valley Dakota Nation. The Addictions Service worker will report directly to the Director of Health.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Process client intake measures as per the Addictions Services requirements
  • Provide on going prevention and intervention activities related to the various forms of addictions
  • Ability to provide lectures and presentations on alcohol, drug, and substance abuse to the public and schools
  • Conduct office and home visits on request from clients
  • Prepares concise program reports on a timely basis
  • Maintain client files according to established procedures
  • Ensures the Driver’s Licensing Program is efficiently administered in a fair and honest manner
  • Works closely with other Health programs to ensure program networking and linkages
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post Secondary Education in the Addictions/Counseling Services field or related work experience
  • Must be alcohol and substance abuse free for the past two years
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Must be a male applicant
  • Ability to understand and communicate in the Dakota language will be an asset
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must abide by and respect the policies and procedures of the SVDN Administration Policy manual
