As the morning of August 25, 2017 came to a close, the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation summer student employees’ last day of work for the summer came to a close. The summer student employees spent the morning doing some short workshops and exercises and reflected on their employment experience. For some, this last day was a joyful day, and for others, they will miss the time spent with staff at each of their designated positions. SVDN’s Employment and Training staff had brought in lunch for the students and guests and SVDN’s health Director Marge Roscelli and Councillor Elton Taylor shared some kind, encouraging and supportive words for the young summer employees. Before sitting down to eat, Diana Roulette and Councillor Jennifer Bone delivered to the students their certificates for First Aide and Customer Service, as well as their final pay cheque for their summer employment.
To our summer student employees, SVDN staff will miss seeing your smiling faces and your hard work, day after day. We wish you all success in your future endeavors and hope one day that you’ll return to the Sioux Valley workforce with all your future education and experience.
