Over the last couple of days, Sioux Valley has seen the evacuation of several people. Some of the evacuees were due to flooded homes, many due to health concerns, specifically those in need of dialysis. We have seen the Assiniboine River flood water rise high enough that Highway 21 needed to be closed for the safety of travelers. Some of the flood water has receded just slightly in the last 24 hours, however, we are still expecting the river to crest in the coming days.
Once again, we encourage all to stay clear of flood waters, stay safe and help those in need.
We will continue to post updates with any information and photos as they are received.
