Community Notice- Public Health Orders and Fines (05.01.20)

Dear SVDN Community Members:

The Manitoba government declared a province-wide state of emergency under The Emergency Measures Act on March 20, 2020, to protect the health and safety of all Manitobans and to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Most recently, the chief provincial health office issued new public health orders that take effect on April 17, 2020, and will be in effect until May 1, 2020. The Pre-set Fines and Offences Descriptions Regulation under The Provincial Offences Act allows enforcement officers to issue tickets with ser fines for failure to comply with the emergency orders.

Members of Sioux Valley Dakota Nation must take necessary steps to ensure compliance with orders made under The Public Health and They Emergency Measures Act.

Effectively Immediately, fine amounts will be set at $486 for tickets issued to individuals, including sole proprietorship and partnership, and $2,542 for tickets issued to corporations.
