Employment Opportunity – Dakota Oyate Lodge Administrator (03.20.19)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Dakota Oyate Lodge Administrator is responsible for the delivery of quality resident care and facilitates interdisciplinary relationships within the facility and with other community partners to ensure a high standard of resident care and safe work environment for the staff.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Shall provide implementation of policies, directives and resolutions promulgated by the Dakota Oyate Lodge
  • Enforce the rules and regulations of Health Canada, Manitoba Health and their respective related departments
  • Develop, maintain and administer a sound plan of organization
  • Maintain high standards of resident care
  • Preparing the annual budgets
  • Regular reporting to Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Chief and Council and submit annual report
  • Oversee orientation procedures for all staff
  • Working knowledge of Labor and Human Rights Legislation pertinent to personnel management functions
  • Establish standards and monitor employee performance, including conducting performance reviews and follow up of personnel
  • Assumes responsibility and is accountable for the total management of the Dakota Oyate Lodge on a twenty-four-hour basis
  • Responsible for arranging a master schedule of rotation within the budgetary allowance
  • Working knowledge of all fire, disaster, evacuation and safety procedures
  • Attend resident care conferences and participate in treatment planning
  • Investigate resident incidents/complaints/concerns and is responsible for prompt follow up as appropriate and in accordance with policy
  • Recommends transfer, room changes or discharges in collaboration with all departments and service providers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current registration with the College of Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • Post Secondary Degree on health care related field and/or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and research in relation to psycho geriatric gerontology
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing administration
  • Keeping with current trends in Long Term Care and health trends
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide financial projections
  • Valid Manitoba drivers license, reliable vehicle (must submit with resume)
  • CPIC, Adult Abuse Registry Check (must submit with resume)
