Sioux Valley Declares State of Emergency due to flooding (04.02.17)

Sioux Valley has declared a state of emergency to do quickly rising flood waters.

A conference was conducted this evening (April 2, 2017) with representatives from Red Cross and Aboriginal Affairs and Norther Development Canada (AANDC) to ensure a properly executed evacuation plan

Evacuations are currently underway for those in Sioux Valley who live north of the “Bone Bridge”. We will be monitoring the water levels constantly. Forecasts predict the water levels to be 3 feet lower than those of 2011.

We will be posting updates as they occur.
