Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Employment Opportunity-Pre-Employment Case Manager and Support Worker (11.19.19)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is seeking applications for Pre-Employment Case Manager and Support Worker who will be responsible for providing direct client services. The Case Manager and Support Worker will be responsible for providing Case Management support to ensure client success in obtaining employment by enhancing existing community-level services. The Case Manager and Support Worker will act as a service navigator linking First Nation departments.

REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES:

  • Requires excellent organizational skills and well-developed communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Good work ethic and attendance record
  • Ability to respond to calls and texts promptly, including after-hours an asset
  • Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks
  • Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle during work hours is mandatory
  • Direct Service Delivery: Assessment with Pre-Employment Supports Program clients, Case Management services for clients and create case plans for client success and liaise with community IA, E&T, and Health programs
  • Monitor employability, readiness, client incentives and disincentives and report back to Manager of Social Development

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge in Case Management and Counseling
  • SVDN candidates will be given preference
  • Experience in Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Intervention, Assessment, Care Planning
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings
  • Experience in compiling and maintaining client files
  • Knowledge of culture, traditions, attitudes and socio-economic conditions of the First Nation communities
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, presentation skills and excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of the Income Assistance and Employment and Training Programs
  • Expected to work independently and be a strong team player
